Viladonga Castro, an asset of cultural interest

Located in the municipality of Castro de Rei, in the province of Lugo, 23 km northeast of the capital of Lugo, we find the Castro de Viladonga.

The site is an example of an outstanding settlement, especially between the second and fifth centuries AD, very important for the knowledge, study and understanding of the castro world after the Roman conquest.

Archaeological excavation, cleaning and consolidation works continue periodically in the castro.
